Limited Brands Reaches Out to Minority Suppliers at National Conference

For the second year in a row, Limited Brands' trade exhibit was one of the most popular and most visited at the annual National Minority Supplier Diversity Council (NMSDC) conference held October 23-26 this year in Dallas, TX.

The 2005 NMSDC conference and Business Opportunity Fair attracted an estimated 7,000 visitors who attended dozens of workshops and eagerly perused nearly 800 booths sponsored by many of the nation's top corporations.

"Attending the NMSDC conference provides us with unprecedented access to hundreds of potential suppliers," said Maria Prince, Director, Strategic Sourcing, Limited Brands. "As part of our inclusion initiative at Limited Brands, we are always looking for great suppliers."

In addition to extending the reach of Limited Brands' supplier diversity initiative, the conference also gives Limited Brands representatives an opportunity to share more about the company; its businesses, brands and products with prospective suppliers.

During the conference's business fair, Limited Brands handed out nearly 2,100 highly sought after pink and white, polka-dotted, stuffed toy dogs which are made exclusively for Victoria's Secret's PINK brand.

The pink and white pups--sold in Victoria's Secret stores nationwide--are actually modeled after larger "prop" dogs manufactured by Limited Brands' minority supplier: Ronis Brothers. Ronis representatives, Josh Ronisky and Dean Mandia were on hand at the conference to meet prospective suppliers and tell them more about Limited Brands.

Limited Brands is a proud sponsor of the South Central Ohio Minority Business Council (SCOMBC) and was recognized this year as being the host sponsor of its annual trade show.
