For the past several weeks, Limited Brands associates and Habitat for Humanity have worked expeditiously together in laying the foundation to construct a home for a local Columbus family.

A single mother and her two children, who were living under unsafe living conditions, were granted their wish of owning a new home when hundreds of Limited Brands associates from the Columbus home offices volunteered their time and talent to provide this family with the American dream.

Since early October, Limited Brands associates volunteered over 1,500 hours working under wet & cold weather conditions to construct a home this family could call their own. Associates spent 6 hours a week for several weeks doing numerous construction tasks such as hammering nails, sawing plywood, installing the roofing, windows and constructing the garage. Three months later, this family's dream became a reality when they received the keys to move into their brand new home and the opportunity for a fresh start.

"I am so grateful to Habitat for Humanity and these volunteers for making my dream come true to own a house where my children and I will feel safe and happy to call home," said homeowner, Anika with tears in her eyes.

"This heartfelt experience will not be forgotten by our associates and we look forward to partnering with Habitat for Humanity on other future projects," said Shelly McCrae, Manager of Volunteer Programs, Limited Brands.
